Please can anyone advise. I have my ancestor Joseph Exall 1778c - 1842 married Mary Sanders 1778c - 1856 married 1800 St Marys Portsea. No further info until 1841 census in Tenterden Kent. I have full history after that and have now found their graves and know about their children. I would like to know the ancestors of Joseph and Mary and Josephs occupation in Portsea and an address if this is possible. |

The 1824 Pigot's Directory for Tenterden lists him as a printer. |

There are a lot of interesting newspaper articles about Joseph Exall. It would appear he was Vestry clerk and said he lived in the parish since 1810. |

Thank you.that is a great start. They move about a lot. I wonder what he did for a living before Tenterden. Perhaps he was always a printer and his son Joseph followed him into the trade. sonya |
