He names Robert as his father on his birth certificate.
On his marriage cert he names his father as Richard which suggests to me that he hadn’t really had his father around .

I can’t find marriage cert for Eliza and Robert either and that’s what is holding me up really . I wondered if they had emigrated and left their son Alexander behind as he is seen as a lodger in the 1911 census . His parents weren’t in evidence in 1914 when he lied about his age and signed up .
I believe that Eliza married again as Robert died young .

I have been looking for 10 years to find the parents of my grandad who is Alexander William Robert Bryson 1899 . They are Robert Bryson and Eliza Gissing .
I have found that Alexander was in lodgings near London when he was 11 and no mention of his parents .
I can’t move on my family tree without this info .
Anyone any ideas ??
