On the 1939 register ( because it was updated for use by the NHS) if a person changes their name it will be noted, usually this is when a woman marries or remarries. In this case Osbourne has been crossed through and Richardson written in in green pen. There is a notation of date of name change 1951 which ties in with a remarriage

Have just looked back on the Lear family and i see that Brian's Lear parents lived at 93 Inoldsby Road in 1939 and his wife Margaret Butcher parents lived at 39 Ingolsby Road. Daisy Richardson being the mother of Brian's father. I thought Ingoldsby rang a bell after me doing his family. This is so ironical

So it looks like Daisy Osbourne nee Summers became Richardson in 1951 and died 1975. Bromley district. Crazy because the other Daisy Richardson re Lear family was born in that area.

Nyx. I really do appreciate your help, thank you . looks like I can go down the Osbourne line and the Summers line but not the father of Daisy Summers line. Looking at the daughters of Edward and Alice Summers perhaps Daisy and Henry Charles could be the children of their eldest daughter Alice. There is a 4yr difference between Daisy and Henry Charles so he maybe he could be the son of another daughter. who knows.

Hi Chris Ho, you very kindly helped me before on another family I had difficulty with. Thank you for this marriage information, it seems that Daisy was born out of wedlock and on her birth , no mothers maiden name. Presume Edward Summers was her grandfather

Is there another Frederick Osborne living in Gravesend with age before 1902 possibly in the 1890's. I see 1922 reference, it states the occ. of Frederick Osborne marriage to Daisy a Summers as being a carman. On the marriage certificate. for Chsrles Henry Butcher and Margaret Osborne states her father occ.as being a tram driver. Presume Carman and Tram Driver being thr same thing.

Just not finding a birth for Margaret, even leaving out a surname or Osborne using no first name :-S
Not finding anything concrete
I'll come back with fresh eyes in the morning, unless Andy is up late and solves it :-)

I have just been looking on Family Search and found quite a few Frederick Osbornes in Kent birth 1892 /1897 it could be any of them. Unfortunately Margaret the daughter of Charles and Margaret (nee Osborne) Butcher has died and her husband is unsure but he insisted they were a Gravesend family, obviously not.

Chris Ho. I really do appreciate the post above but I honestly don't think that the SUMMERS family are the correct family.. Looking at the 1901 Osborne family Gravesend there was no son Frederick and the father of Margaret Osborne who no one seems to be able to find a birth for was married in 1935 age 19 so that makes her b1916 , hence her father Frederick must have been born around approx 1895 at least. The Frederick Osborne married to a Daisy Summers was born 1902 so it can't be Margaret Osborns father..

There's only a very small number of Margarets born 1916/7 in Kent, (none in Gravesend) none of them seem likely.
John on the marriage cert for Margaret, who are the witnesses please? Just trying every avenue.

Out of area, but if she dropped the Betty....
Can't see a marriage or death that easily fits.

This is very far out, but i have worked through the Osbornes of various spellings in Kent to look for whoever might be Margaret's mother /father with no joy. Have edited out the Adlington family just to save time, the 'Osborne' servant mentioned does not give first name age or birthplace.

Andy, that looks like a good maybe, as I can't find anything else on her.
Might be worth looking to see if any of the Summers girls were working in Thanet and then Betty M took the Osborne name if she was living with Daisy? Otherwise I am stumped!
