Thanks Andy.I've got a funny feeling that Bernard's from Northern Ireland?-which could possibly explain why I can't find him on censuses??? I think he was born 1901?
Thank you Joseph, that's definitely his wife and family. He must of been 'called up' for service as he's not on there. Just trying to discover exactly where he's from,as family seem to think Belfast? Antrim?

Paul, I would doubt if Bernard was called up. Joseph has shown him in 1939 in the County Mental Hospital. As he had served in WW1, that may account for his mental health issues in 1939.

26 July 1921 - Lancashire Evening Post - Preston, Lancashire, England
Bernard Hannaway was next charged with assaulting P.C. Quayle. The latter said had a prisoner in Harrison-street when three or four men knocked him away. He drew his staff to defend himself, but lost possession of it, and the prisoner Hannaway struck him on the jaw with it. The top of his lip was split, and afterwards a doctor had to put a stitch into it. Hannaway said the constables staff fell on the ground, and it was an accident that he was struck with it.
(following a disturbance Saturday night in Barrow, due to the unruly conduct of a number of young Irishmen. Two being sent to gaol for one month with hard labour, Bernard being one of them)
