Member Since: July 2003 Posts: 604 Send Message	I've been searching for census information on this lady for ages. Here's what I know. Florence Ann or Annie Probert, born in July 1887 in Tredegar, parents possibly John and Mary Ann. Possible baptism in Tredegar in August 1887. She married Benjamin Bevan in 1907 in Bedwellty district. He emigrated to Canada with their son, Jack, in 1929 and never returned. I have details of the voyage. In 1939 she is living with her daughter, Florrie, in Abergavenny. She died in Ebbw Vale in 1955. I have failed to find her on any census after her birth so can anyone please help with that? I bet I've missed something obvious or done something stupid. Annie

Member Since: July 2003 Posts: 604 Send Message	Florence Williams (Bevan) on the 1939 was born Florrie Bromley in 1917 in Crickhowell district but was taken in by another family when her mother died and they changed her name to Bevan. I suspect her mother had had a ding-dong with the Bevan man and he was her natural father. Her father gave her to this man soon after her mother died. Her marriage cert has Bromley-Bevan. Thank you all for your help. I have to go hospital visiting now but will return to this later to follow up all this info. Annie
