Could any of you please give your opinion on Alexander Henry Miller's marriage to Selina Hook.

It does seem a bit too much of a coincidence to me.

Father......Deceased......Occ: Carpenter..........well that fits.

Place and year of birth.......well that fits.

Living before his marriage in 1861 Lambeth........Living there after his marriage in 1871.

He named his daughter Eliza..........his mother was Eliza.

What do you think?

It seems likely it's your Alexander- plus no middle name on death.

This research all stems from the thread i posted last week, regarding the death of David Porter.

I had no intention of mentioning his father (My 3x Grt Grandfather) Daniel Porter born 1797 Clavering, Essex on that thread. I gave up finding any further information about him a long, long time ago.

Well, i did mention him on the off chance, just to see if anyone could find a baptism.........i didn't hold out much hope though.

Then Voila!.........Out pops Chris Ho with the baptism.

My eyes nearly popped out of my head.

So............with the info Maddie gave me and Chris Ho for pointing me in the direction of Freereg........(Actually, i need a slap because Chris has often pointed me in the direction of Freereg and i always forget to look on there!) i was on a roll.

Thanks to Chris Ho, Chris in Sussex has sent me loads of attachments of full batism, marriage and buriel records relating to my Porter's which has enabled me to go back two further generations.

Spotting an Eliza Miller born 1798 clavering Essex on the 1851 census set the ball rolling on this search.

Eliza was the sister of Daniel..... so my 4th Grt Aunt who i didn't even know ever existed until a few days ago.

I am extremely thrilled, delighted and grateful to all of you for all your time in helping me to discover about Eliza, her children and their descendants.

I even have one on the 1939 Register.............how amazing is that!!

I still have a long way to go with all the info but it's a fabulous journey.
