Yes,I went through all the births and realised she was Margaret Ann.
Still strange I cant find any of them above after 1891.

Tis strange- possible death for Alice 1900- but not really looked into it. I'm about to sit out with a glass of wine, so unlikely to come back to it today.

Thank you both. I met some of the older Casey family member's about 12 years ago--now sadly deceased, and they knew my Grandmother just after WW2, till she died --in 1950. They stated that Margaret had no middle name. The Census of 1901 and 1911, do not attribute her with a middle name , and there isn't one on her wedding certificate either. I have to conclude that she didn't have one. Thanks again--I will still try and connect your findings, As they say, Brown is one of the top four 'nightmare' names, to trawl through. Arfermo.

Dear me---yet another wrong 'un through the post this morning. Just when i really thought I'd found my grandmother's birth certificate, Margaret Brown- at last---Wrong father's profession. Anther tenner up my cassock. How I wish the father's occupation was available online, it might have saved me a small fortune. I have a dozen wrong Certificate's now--the usual main cause of failure is the info you cannot see before taking a chance. Does anyone know if a certain organisation on line, that accepted 'wrong' certificates that others may want? or sometimes exchange, is still around? Arfermo :-\ :-\

Can you tell us the certificate you ordered that was wrong?

Was it the West Derby with mother's maiden name Thomson,

or the Liverpool birth with mother's maiden name Morris?

AustinQ--you're an early bird, --I'm a Night Owler. , I'd been in bed 3 & half hours when you wrote. Thanks for your stamina. I tossed a coin, and lost, by choosing the wrong entry. Which was--'West Derby' vol 08b page 563. Almost every wrong 'un I have bought, was down to the father's occupation being way out . MY Great Grandfather James being a General Labourer or specifically, a Dock Labourer. This is written on his daughter Margaret's Wedding certificate, to James Casey. On this new certificate, This James Brown was a Machine Printer, a skilled job. It is unlikely that he would become a Labourer, but not impossible, during hard to find work periods. I tried the GRO searching system, using the second choice --'Liverpool' vol 8b----page 21, and their system didn't recognise it. I have written the details on their 'fault' page. If that hitch is resolved--I will buy the 'Liverpool' Cert. A regular problem lies in the fact that a date of birth, late in the year, is overlooked in favour of the date of registration--as in this case, and with daughter Annie. 1907/08. Arfermo, you could save others from making the same mistake with those wrong certs - if you go to the freebmd site

Find the entry in the index for each cert that you have, click on the 'info' icon next to the entry, it will tell you how to add a post'em. The post 'em gives you just about enough space to squeeze in the pertinent details on the cert, so the next person who comes along gets that info. I do it with all my certs, right or wrong, as it can save others time and money.

Arfermo- not sure what you mean about the GRO searching system not recognising it.

You need to come back to your threads and take a look at the info.

Hi folks--today I have received the 'Liverpool' ( vol 08b---Pg 21 ) entry for my Grandmother's birth certificate--ie. 24th September 1884, Reg. 3/11/1884, and it has some surprises. 'Mother of baby' is, Mary Brown.- late Fredrickson--'Formerly 'Morris'.. Fathers occupation--'Seaman'. Should I assume that Mary Brown was formerly married to a Mr Fredrickson, who died? As to the GRO 'refusal'. It can only be due to the fact that I copied the reg details from The GR print-off, which does not include the '0' prefix that GRO requires. Then it worked--so a point to note.
My Great Grand father--a 'Seaman' ---18 years later a Docker,-perfectly logical ( on 1903 daughter's wedding certificate. I think this is THE one, and I will accept it. Thank you all for your time and efforts.--Arfermo. :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D
