Thank you for the census records. The fact that the children are living elsewhere does strongly suggest both parents are dead. |

in the 1881 census the youngest children mary, john and sarah are living with relations that why I belive eliza died before the 1881 census |

Thank you. That could be Joseph and Eliza's deaths as we all know people could be elastic with the concept of age. |

Thank you both that does appear to be Eleanor. I couldn't find Joseph because he has been changing jobs again. Changing jobs seems to be a theme with this branch of the family. Eleanor's brother in law William Greenlaw went from cooper to publican and then to customs officer |

I am trying to find Eleanor Bewley after the 1851 census. I realise that Eleanor may have died but I cannot find her husband after 1851 either. Eleanor was born in 1809 in St Bees, Cumberland |
