Possibly Sheila's husband's death, if he was considerably younger than she was: |

I have now found out that Beatrice Muriel Gearing married James Vanderboon in 1944 Brighton and Hove, she did a civil repatriation to Canada in 1946 as a war bride to Edmonton Alberta. She came home in 1950 for a visit and returned on the 21/09/1950 on the Franconia, Cunard White Star Ltd from Liverpool to Quebec. Is there any way I can find records from Canada that she had any children or when she died. Any information would be very helpful. |

Yes I understand that now I think about it. If she had any children they would still be in their 60's probably. She was born in 1908 so was 36 when she married and 38 by the time she got to Canada, maybe she thought she was too old then to have children. |

You could try Sheila's will, to see if there is mention of Beatrice or any neices/nephews? If you're willing to fork out £10 it can be ordered from here: |

I am looking for Arthur Gearing's death. He was born in Brixton in 1882. He was living at 19, Fonthill Rd, Hove in 1939. His wife Robina died in 1965 and left £152 in her will to her daughter Sheila, I thought Arthur must have already died, but maybe this is not the case..This has all been confirmed in this post, but I cannot find Arthur's death anywhere. There is an Arthur Gearing who died in Eastbourne, but he was also born in Eastbourne, so it can't be him. My Arthur seems to have disappeared, can anyone help. |

Thank you for all this information but I just really wanted to know where to look to find deaths and or wills in Canada, is there a web site anyone can recommend. |

Thank you Maddie for your information about the lack of being able to find details from Canada, I did not know it would be so difficult with them being part of the commonwealth. I guess I may have to end my quest in search of Beatrice. |
