Malyon, Dea has posted Sydney's birth. The census you have posted is the wrong year and place of birth.

don't think that james could have been born in 1888 and married in 1902 he would only be 14yrs old
|
On the military record for James there are three children listed:
Gladys July 29 02 Annie Jane
There's an address which looks like 24 Marshall Street, Holloway Head, Ladywood, Birmingham
James declared himself as age 30 in 1914

Possibly Bella and son James in 1939:
9/327 Heath Street , Birmingham C.B., Warwickshire, England
~??? ~??? 18 Dec 1882 Female Unpaid Domestic Duties Widowed Closed Record Closed Record Alfred Drear 29 Sep 1914 Male Viewer (Small Arms Manufacturer) Married James Egginton 10 Feb 1910 Male Tube Drawer Heavy Worker Non-Ferrous Metals Single -------------------------------------
I think the image says Bella Egginton James was originally listed as married but this was crossed out and changed to single --------------------------
EDIT: Confirmed as them- Bella and son are on 1939 electoral register at this address:
1939 9 Rose Terrace, Heath Street, Ladywood, Birmingham Bella Egginton Sidney James Egginton
1930 9 Rose Terrace, Heath Street, Ladywood, Birmingham Bella Egginton Sarah Annie Jauncey

If James died before Gladys's marriage, then obviously the 1969 death I posted earlier isn't correct.
Maybe this one ??
Deaths Mar 1925 (>99%) Egginton James 49 Birmingham N 6d 376
But that would make his birth 1876.

What age is given for James on his marriage cert?
Have you found him on any other censuses?
|
Here's the earlier thread about this family:
http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards/board/ancestors/thread/1352855
As was pointed out on that thread, his army record says he was a caster, and this 1901 census matches that - also has YOB 1876, which would fit the 1925 death:
James Eggington in the 1901 England Census Name: James Eggington Age: 25 Estimated birth year: abt 1876 Relation to Head: Inmate Gender: Male Birth Place: Birmingham, England Civil Parish: Erdington Ecclesiastical parish: St Barnabas County/Island: Warwickshire Country: England Street address: Occupation: Registration district: Aston Sub-registration district: Erdington ED, institution, or vessel: Aston Union Workhouse Neighbors: View others on page Piece: 2876 Folio: 167 Page Number: 18 Household schedule number: 1

On original post you said James was born 1888 but I believe he was more likely born c 1876.
His marriage cert shows birth c 1876
His entry to the army admittedly shows c 1884 but I believe this was his death in 1935:
Deaths Mar 1925 (>99%) Egginton James 49 Birmingham N 6d 376
This being his birth:
Births Dec 1875 (>99%) EGGINTON James Birmingham 6d 193 Scan available - click to view
Results: Name: Mother's Maiden Surname: EGGINTON, JAMES WAKE Order GRO Reference: 1875 D Quarter in BIRMINGHAM Volume 06D Page 193
He was shown as deceased on daughter Gladys's marriage in 1925 and Bella was a widow in 1939 so the 1969 death above wouldn't fit.
I believe this is him on census's but I still can't find him in 1911:
