Right. I keep coming back to this record. I know the birth year is wrong for Robert but maybe the Robert on this census died and they used the name again? Or possibly he knocked a few years off his age because he was older than Margaret. |

Mary Sharp and David Martin. There is a marriage record for them 28.05.30 in old parish record but she is down as a Marrion not Mary. ALso these names are on his death certificate from 2nd Oct 1901, Muirkirk, AYr. Dont know why I thought Ireland really as wouldnt make sense! Mustn't have been christened, just thought with his parents having been married? Think you must be right on this as no record at all, and no mismatched spellings around this time either.. |

What names did Robert give for his parents when he married Margaret Green please? |

His birth may not be recorded anywhere if he wasn't christened. I would doubt that he came from Ireland although his parents may have. He states birthplace as Dumfriesshire on all the census records. |

He may not have been christened. Even in those days, not everyone was. |

This seems to be Margaret's Mum's death. They seem to have moved from Ayrshire |

Just presumed Robert was living in Ayrshire still which gives me one death result which matches. But still cant find a birth record for him around the 1845 mark! |

Thats the problem there are quite a few results without knowing the date of death... even with approx guess at range of years... its expensive! |

Oh! Blast, there used to be that option. Somethings just don't change for the better! |

problem with scotlandspeople is its pay to view each record... and there isnt an option to search for a death with an approximate birth date... hmm. |
