I'm pretty sure that the 61 census on Ancestry lists Sarah Lawley as daughter-in-law, meaning stepdaughter of Edward Gibbons therefore daughter of Emma. |

Michelle the census info does say she is the wife's daughter and on one says daughter in law which the way a stepdaughter was described at that time |

On the GRO list there is a birth registered in Stourbridge in the June quarter of 1854 for a Sarah Ann Lawley with no mother's maiden name. I believe this may indicate an illegitimate birth. Excuse my poor English geography but would Brierley Hill be in the Stourbridge registration district? |

The birth in 1855 in Dudley gives mmn of Parry. |

If Sarah was born in 1854, she was very young when Peter was born. |
