I have found this, posted some years ago....
Help needed from a very kind person who subscribes to World Membership on Ancestry.co.uk. I am looking for the information concealed on the Immigration & Emigration record type for, the Hamburg Passenger List 1850-1934 arrival: Southampton on; Cherbourg; New York, for William Mathis.
This was the reply Furst Bismarck, August 1901: Entry 93, MATHIS William, 56, verh [think it means married], New York, Sattler [?] Entry 94, MATHIS W. 56 verh, New York [looks like his wife]
So now thinking my great granddad is German ? Furst Bismarck was a ship.
Any ideas? :-)

I also have william taylor born approx 1885 a his dad being John taylor so this i good. I have siblings as possibly Eliza Charlotte Louisa John George
And that John their dad's wife was possibly, Martha (no surname) Again it could ll be wrong, but part matches up with your search :-)

Here's Herbert:

The page number for Margaret's marriage should be 1062, not 1052 - it's hard to read. I'll do a postem.

1911 census says they'd been married 19 years, which would be c1892. I don't see the marriage of a Herbert Taylor to any woman surnamed Little around that time.
Margaret / Marjorie was born in Feltham, Middlesex. This will be her birth :

So my nan Violet who married who married William Mathis B.1907
Her mother was Janet Nichols B.1897 London. Married Harry L Taylor B.1894. I think.
They had 6 children. I have all their details.
Then Harry's dad I think was Herbert Lothian Taylor B.1868 and his mother Mary Little (I think) B.1864 approx
I think he had 5 brothers/sisters Annie (1892) William (1896) Margaret (1901) Doris (1904) Herbert (1906) No further details on them.
Their father Herbert Lothian Taylor if I am right had 9 brothers/sisters William (1864) Albert (1865) Harry (1867) Louisa (1871) Florence (1874) Charles (1876) Percy (1887) Ethel (1888) Ernest (1890) These could be all wrong :-( :-(
I then have Herbert's father as William Taylor born approx 1825 And Herbert's mother as Louisa (No maiden name) born around 1836.
99% most London/Middlesex area. I paid to see some census's and baptism records for Herbert, which is how I have above. If I have read it write. Then looked at free census records to try and tie the rest. (Could be all wrong) <3
