Sorry it's been a while. My Vivian is the child of Aileen Baldwin and Arthur Castledine. I have been a member before a few years ago but I don't think I knew about this child then. There are a few things that I find odd about this side of my family . From what i know Aileen Mignor Baldwin was a British Subject born to Henry Charles Baldwin and Louisa Mary/ MaryLouisa Honeybone. According to her wedding certificate Aileen was 17years old and Arthur (a gunner in the Royal Atrtillery) was full age. They returned to England in 1904 and the census revealed that she was in fact 14 when she married ( this I presume was a case of needed to get married and this baby must be the elusive Vivian). Does this help ? |

At that period in time in India you're more likely to find church baptism and burial records than civil BMD records, unless it's an Armed Forces record, so I suppose you might get a burial record only, for an extremely short-lived child that didn't get baptised. |

I was just thinking the same Chris but I couldn't find a previous thread and Linda only has two posts to her name so either she was registed previously under a different name or it was someone else making the enquiry ?? |

Thank you very much for your help. The information about Viviens birth/ death was found on a scrap of paper on my mothers research. My mother died six years ago so I'm afraid I have very little to go on. |

There is also this site - Families in British India Society. Looks as though you can do a general search but for more info will need to be a member. |

I can't help with your enquiry but if there is a death record there should be a birth recorded too. A stillbirth wouldn't have either a birth or death record. |

There are bmd's for British India Office deaths and British Nationals Armed Forces on Find My Past for starters. |

Where do you go on line to find out more about either a stillbirth or died shortly after birth when the event happened to a british subject in india pre 1903. I know the baby was a boy called Vivien this is from an entry of death. No age is given and no entry of birth can be found. |
