I need more help please regarding the Richards, I have now found the family of William Richards who married Lucy Sophia Wingfield. His father was William Richards and I found the baptism for William in 1830 Ewell and it states his parents William and Jane Richards occ of William mill wright, this ties up with the occ given on marriage of William and Lucy in 1859 Malling. I am unable to find a birth or death of William senior, in 1841 he had died because given on census Jane his wife being a widow, also on that census William junior was not in the household. but he was on the 1851 and his youngest brother Henry being born in 1841 . Obviously William their father must have died around 1841 but unable to find a death in Epsom or Ewell, Because he had died by the 1st census came out I am unable to find when he was born. Any help on this one will be appreciated |

The marriage of Lucy Sophia Wingfield to William Richards feel sure is the right one, Malling is not all that far away from Hadlow or Tunbridge.where the first 2 children were born. Looking at the 1871 census I see that Lucy stated she was born 1839 Westminster.. Unsure if the marriage of William Williams and Sophia Wingfield are her parents. It certainly said on the GRO that her mother was Jackson. I have seen there was a Sophia Wingfield born in Gravesend, now here is where there could possibly be a twist because Daisy the daughter of William and Lucy Richards came to live in Gravesend, States on all the census's for her born in Croydon, perhaps they were distant family. |

Meant to say their daughter who called herself Richardson was Daisy, born Croydon 1883 |

She maybe told a little white lie about her age for the marriage as she would only have been 18 and would have needed parents permission. Also made her a bit closer to the groom's age!! |

Many thanks GG, I see on the marriage it states her birth date as 1837 not 1841. I see her father was called William .Such a confusing family because the daughter of William and Lucy Richards called herself Richardson, she had 4 children surnames of Lear yet she didn't live with him and still called herself Richardson, so had a problem finding her. Maybe a few white lies at times. |

I am trying to find Lucy Sophia Wingfield, all I found is she was born 1841 and then married in 1859, I have looked on GRO and found her mother as being Jackson, but found no marriage for Wingfield and Jackson.. Haven't found Lucy in the 1851 census at all. Appreciate if anyone has any ideas please |
