Oh my goodness - Thankyou so much everyone for your help and input. Will check through everything. Your comments have explained a lot....at the begining I was sure fathers name was William Ernest which is what I was searching - however I then came across an Archibald William who had married an Elizabeth Harvey so jumped to the wrong conclusion and went right of course - as far at New Zealand it would seem !! Sadly I have no certificates to verify names of parents etc and my own has no mention of parents (short form). So yes the parents were William and Annie which had been my first search. Back on track now - so thanks again to you all x |

Whoops, just noticed I didn't post the site for the NZ service record: |

It certainly looks as if Archibald wasn't the father of the three children Rita mentions but surely she must have her and Raymond's marriage cert, which should confirm Raymond's father's name? |

Oh well , there you are from Potty's posting it looks like my burial is him. |

It's possible that he went back to New Zealand ?? |

This site has Archibald's service record. Gives wife as Mrs E Giles. 71 Sprey Street. Poplar. It also says he died in 1946 in New Zealand. (Ch Ch - possibly Christchurch?). |

I think this prooves that the parents of the twins and elder sibling Raymond was not Archibald and Elizabeth at all. |

I can't find a birth for an Archibald W Giles anywhere in England or Wales at the correct time? |

I feel that the marriage in 1929 would be more likely for the twins. If that's the case, not sure where Rita has got Archibald William Giles from |
