This was the Muriel who married Gunnar Schwartz, he was the furniture guy. I've had some info from a family member and it would seem some bending of the truth took place with age... which must have meant tampering with documents when leaving England to go to the US to marry her new husband, once i mentioned the name Gunnar, they remembered him. i doubt she was 15/16 years old and married? I'm wondering if it is worth the £30 to try and find El Syaed's war card records... is it likely that he would have any held here as he was egyptian? ive no idea how those sorts of things work.

The second is the usual spelling though said as "shwartz", but it is more of a Germanic name than Scandinavian.

I have had some further information, muriel may have remarried to a mr shwartz who was an American citizen ( though from Scandinavian descent) this doesn't of course help me any further with El Sayeed... But it does point to the suggestion that he must have died and been recorded in another country, or a divorce perhaps? Thanks for the help, it's refreshing to find like minded people

As an Egyptian citizen he wouldn't show up on the ER of that time. He'd have had to take British Nationality before he did.
