Elizabeth and Francis Young were certainly at an address in High Street, Loanhead, until at least 2009, per a combination of 192.com and searchelectoralroll.
Credits on either site would let you see the house number, but I think it's certain to be 76.

Elizabeth may have moved after Francis's death, or may just have opted out of the public ER. There's no Young in the BT phonebook at that address, but may be ex-directory.

Yes, it might be worth writing - if she's moved, the new occupant may know where she is now.

Mouseprice.com has no record of that house being sold since before 2003 - but of course E & FV may not have owned the house.

By the way, I apologise for sending you in the direction of Frederick S. I was sure I'd seen him listed with FV somewhere, but now can't find it , so must have been mistaken. I hope the phonecall wasn't too awkward.

Thinking about this she must have been married to frances victor as the records office told me the address in loanhead that the daughter gave as informant on her mum ,but just to make sure ill get cert

Stuart

Stuart Report 11 Nov 2016 23:17

Best option to order their marriage certificate I agree so will do that any site that shows recent census was wondering if francis victor young s widow might still be there, worth trying a letter to the address in loanhead or not do you think

ArgyllGran Report 11 Nov 2016 17:30

The daughter could have been born any time between 1933 and approx. 1955-60.

Lots of possibilities. I do wish GROS allowed searching with mms!

Well, if the Youngs at the address I sent you aren't the right people, then yes, it does mean that Elizabeth Daphne's daughter wasn't married to Francis Victor.

Francis's marriage cert would clinch it one way or the other, as it would give his wife's parents' names.

So we're back to looking for the marriage of an E Macneill (or other spelling) to a Young, probably in the Edinburgh area, but not necessarily.
And it would be 1951 or later (1991 latest), assuming the daughter was born after the marriage, and was at least 18 .

However, if the marriage was in Scotland, Francis Victor's is the only one shown by SP for that period, apart from one in Ayr reg district in 1982, but E is only that bride's middle initial.

If the marriage wasn't in Scotland, then it's a needle in a haystack again, as E McNeil (or other spelling) isn't distinctive enough to pinpoint.

Stuart

Stuart Report 10 Nov 2016 22:07

Ok thankyou

ArgyllGran Report 10 Nov 2016 19:22

Listed with her (and previously Francis V )on ER's until 2010 are a Frederick S Young and an Emma Young - presumably a son, and either a daughter or a daughter in law.

If you search 192.com for Frederick S Young in Midlothian, and then buy credits, you'll see the address he was at in 2010, and could try to contact him there. He might still be there, or the new occupants might be able to redirect a letter.

You can also try looking for him on searchelectoralroll - it's playing up for me again, telling me to buy credits instead of letting me see the free results.

The other cert wasn't her maybe she's still alive
