edit - you have him in your tree as born in Crumlin County Antrim Northern Ireland.

You and two others also have Francis 1938.
Two people have a John born 1930 in Crumlin, and one of has a John born 1932 in Crumlin.
That person also has a May and Marie born in the same place around the same time.

No other until 1952, presumably a little late.

I'm wondering whether McKee might have been a stepfather's name, i.e. that her mother remarried between 1906 and Catherine's birth in 1911.


If your dad was actually born in Canada, that means that Margaret must have gone to Canada at some point.

and of course your dad would have had to travel from Canada between his birth and baptism, a very narrow window.

Patchem - if he was born in Toronto, he must have came back here as a very young b baby to be christened in Crumlin, CO.Antrim in May 1931.

Jooniecloonie - 1901 census - Margaret was in her daughter Agnes house, looking after Annie who was 1. Agnes was in the Rectory, as she was a house servant.
I went to the local Records Office and found Annie's birth, she was born 2 years before Agnes married her husband. No father's name was mentioned. I have lost Annie in the 1911 census, which is strange, as she would only have been 11 or 12. I couldn't find Margaret in Ancestry either. for some reason.
My dad's grandparents were married in Crumlin Presbyterian church in 1902. They were Agnes McKee (maiden name) and John McKee. Strange having same surnames!!! Their fathers's were - Agnes (Thomas Mckee, labourer) and John (John McKee, farmer)
I also saw that ship record on Ancestry. It fits in perfectly but who did she go with ? The family story goes - My Dad's mother and father eloped to Canada to get married, as one was from a wealthy family and one from a poor family. He was born in Canada and then brought back here to be raised by his Aunt. what happened his parents, is another mystery!!! It could be rubbish and my dad could have just been embarrased by the fact he didn't know who his father was and his mother was unmarried. At his mother's funeral, around 1958 - 60, my father and his brother Frank had a massive row and they never saw each other again! Heather was only 12 -14 according to her friend that I managed to find. She went to be raised by an Aunt also.
How can you see passenger lists, I would love to scan down it to see if there is a Kerr with her!
