	I'm getting really frustrated. I've been searching Genes and Ancestry records to try and find Daisy's first marriage. Daisy married a man who was already married therefore the marriage didn't count but Daisy didn't know this for several years - but surely there would still be a record somewhere? Daisy and this man had a child known as either Dorothy or Joan. I know her as Aunty Joan but as a child she was known as Dorothy. No one knows who the father is at all, but surely there has to be a record somewhere of her first marriage? I know there won't be any divorce papers due to the fact it wasn't a legit marriage. That's all I got, it was a huge secret. But I really, really want to try and find Joan's father because he's got another family and it's interested, plus Joan is still alive and never knew her father or family. (Although her step father was amazing.) Just to clarify, Daisy married Fred Graham in 1929. So it's not him, and the marriage is before that. :-( :-(

	Greyghost, that's the second marriage in 1929, so it's not that. The first marriage was before then with a different man. Andrew, Joan was born in London, literally between the bow bells or something.

	Yeah I was trying to trace back in Daisys family which is done, as far as I want to go at the mo, but I want to find her first marriage. I'm not 100% sure how long she was with the man for but Joan was born 1926 and then Daisy remarried 1929. So I guess it all happened quickly. Just want to know who Joans father is really.

	Fred and Daisy married in Dorset. When Daisy was disowned she moved this way, whereas she lived in London and that's where Joan was.

	Muriel D J is not Joan Dorothy West. Joan did not marry a Ralph Morris. I am looking for Joan Dorothy West's father.

	If it was a bigamous mariage that was annulled then you won't find any gro ref for it

Member Since: July 2005 Posts: 10,667 Send Message	A friend of mine married, the groom was a bigamist, but the GRO reference is still there. I think this has been "discussed" on recent threads. Marrying and discovering he was a bigamist may have been a better story than no Father to name.
