Jonathan -

it may be that you're just posting that for general info in case it's of future use to anyone interested in this family.

But just in case you're under the impression that you're contacting Maureen in particular, please note Erika's advice above.
To send Maureen a private message, you need to click on her name in green at the top of one of her posts, and then use the resulting online form.

Your private message, and her reply (if any), won't appear on this thread, but will be done by email via GR.

You have more chance of contacting her in that way than by hoping that she will happen to look at this old thread again after so long.

Welcome to the boards, Jonathan.

As you've noticed, you've resurrected an old thread.
Maureen is unlikely to be looking for replies here now - hence Erika's advice above.

If you follow that advice, then so long as Maureen has kept GR advised of any change to her email address, they will notify her by email that there's a message from you in the system.

If you're lucky, she'll receive and read it, and reply.
No guarantees, though.

If she does reply, her reply will come to you by email, via GR, and not on this thread.

Hello, this is a bit late, Dick Tylellwyd was my Great Uncle and my Father's Favourite. My Grandfather was Rees Davies, father of Jonathan and David both born at Brychgoed Farm, Heol Senni, Sennybridge.

AUNTY CHARLOTTE has always been a family mystery.

Thank you, that all looks very promising, I will have to get back to my tree to see if I have any of this information to confirm, or investigate further as to how it fits. Unfortunately I am having a lot of problems with my computer lately so it may take some time but I will definitely let you know what I come up with. Your help is most appreciated.

Maureen, ignore my comment(s) on Charlotte dying in 1922, I was getting myself confused!

I thought the same thing too, people calling people 'uncle' when in fact they were not uncles.

Would this be Richard and David in 1841?

I think it's possible that Richard (Dick) may have been Charlotte's cousin as, when I was a child, I was brought up to call my parents cousins uncle & auntie

Maureen

Maureen Report 16 Jul 2016 23:44

AQ, she died in Ealing in 1972 aged 89, she was living in Greenford, with my uncle, Hubert Harrington & had been for many years, certainly through my lifetime & they had previously lived in Brixton.

AQ looks like you have the right family. I've added to my census information (above) to make it clear that it is NOT correct.

I'm still convinced that 'Richard' was merely known as 'uncle' and was not in fact a 'blood' uncle.

Am I right in thinking that 'Charlotte Little' died in 1922? I'm sure I've read that somewhere but I can't see her death? :-S

Maureen Report 16 Jul 2016 00:33

hi Austin Q, yes that is my grandparents in the 1911 census, they lived in Dyfodwg Street, I believe it was a general grocery shop, the only error is the youngest son his name was Hubert Harrington not Herbert.

Maureen

Maureen Report 16 Jul 2016 00:24

Hi Gins, my grandmothers father was David Davies not John so I don't think this is the correct thread, although there may be some connection, grateful for your assistance.
