Thank you for your replies. Yes I have tried the Scotland site census but nothing showing up, wondered if he was not in Scotland when census taken -being at sea. |

Patricia, are you sure you don't know anything else about him? Do you have any info on his daughter(s)? or who, where and when he married? |

There are only 3 births registered in Scotland for Angus Dale from 1855 to 2014. The first was in 1890; the second in 1929 and the third in 1981. |

On my Mother-in-Laws (died 1969) two marriage wedding cert she names her Father as Angus Dale a merchant seaman. On Mother-in-Laws death cert states (by her 2nd husband) born in Glasgow approx. 1900. First marriage 1920 in Southport second marriage in Bristol abt 1929. Other members of the family & myself have tried to find the daughter (Mother-in-Law) over a number of years including this site but does not seem to exit under the name she gives which is Queenie Rubelar Dale. So thought would try the name she gives as her Father. Nothing ever mentioned about her life to her children. The strange thing is that her second child who grew up in Scotland (we think with Grandparents) on his marriage (1940) and death cert (1946) he states his Mothers maiden name as Queenie Rose! |

The tree on Ancestry has her as Rose Queenie Dale. Scotlandspeople has one birth for a Rose Dale in 1900, in Ayr but that is probably this one: |

Do you have her son Donald's birth certificate please? If Queenie returned to Scotland for his birth, the address on the certificate may be the home of a relative. |
