Hampshire Advertiser - Saturday 01 June 1901 BOLDRE At Boldre on Tuesday, Mr Beranrd Harfield, the County Coroner, held an inquiry touching the death of Emma Caroline Saunders who died suddenly at Barborne Farm, Boldre on the 26th inst. George Saunders a farm bailiff of Boldre stated that the deceased was his step-sister. She lived at Bristol and had gone to Boldre on account of her ill health. When she arrived at the farm she was very much exhausted. On Sunday morning she was very ill and Dr Chinnery was sent for. The woman, however, died before his arrival. She had refused to have a doctor previous to Sunday morning. She had been sent witness, as at Bristol she had not had the necessities of life.- Dr Chinnery certified the cause of death to be syncope, due to cardiac failure, He stated that the deceased had not been well nourished and was suffering from curvature of the spine- A verdict in accordance with the medical testimony was returned by the jury. ---------------------------------------------------

Another very sad story.
So neither Sarah nor Emma married, and neither life ended well - assuming SS is the right Sarah.

Oh my goodness AustinQ, i am blown away by the info you found.
I thought i would leave it alone for tonight, and come back to it all tomorrow......but i just couldn't stay away.
I found this earlier........

So the sister was Caroline Emma Saunders!
George William Saunders was indeed her step brother (half brother actually)......he married Margaret Puddle in 1871 Lymington, Hampshire.

Just fabulous.......i can't even begin to tell you how thrilled i am.
George Saunders married his second wife Amelia Woodward in 1843, Lymington, Hampshire.
This might possibly be the death of his first wife..
?? Deaths Dec 1839 (>99%) Saunders Charlotte Milton 5 252
|
? I don't think the 1839 death is likely- isn't Milton in Kent?
I think, especially as no more children were born to George and Charlotte after 1834, that the 1834 death is more likely
|
It's not quite 'snap' Prickles - your lady above died 5 years after the one which AustinQ posted and her death appears to have been in Kent??
