Hi can any one help please,
by looking on the 1911 census or looking at a birth cert image for
Ellen Redfern born Sheffield 1911
parents was
George Redfern born Massachusetts 1883 and died Sheffield 1935
Ellen Redfern also nee Redfern born Sheffield 1880 died Sheffield 1958
im trying to find out were Ellen born 1911 was living
only im trying to find out were her brother was living at that time he was
called Alfred Redfern born Sheffield 1909 can not find him on the census
so though as Ellen was born in 1911 it might throw some light on it

Having checked Freebmd for Ellen Redfern/Redfearn births the ones that were shown were all born after the 1911 census.

Was she actually born before the census was taken.

she married George Ruston 1936 sheffield and died about 1948 two days after giving birth thats alli know

That was Dec quarter therefore she won't be on the 1911 census.

Have you found George and Ellen in the 1901 census, were they married by 1901?

parents george and ellen were married in sheffield 1907

I can't see them in 1911

its a puzzle to me i tried finding my grandad first and nothing so my last resort was to find his sister but still nothing begining to think they might have been poor and was lodging with another family but not on any census

I struggled to find a family once. They were living with another family and the enumerator had given them the other family's surname. Fortunately for me someone on here found them for me. If you bought young Ellens birth certificate with a bit of luck you may be able to find them through the address on the birth certificate.

ellens father was born 2-8-1883 massachusetts and died 17-4-1935 sheffield,if thats him on 1911 census were is his sons my grand dad alfred born 1909 and george 1907 and ellens mother also ellen

If hoyle street (from info on other thread) is where they might be in 1911 it seems to be missing page on census. Perhaps someone knows how to find if pages were missing from Sheffield.

In 1901 George gives his birthplace as Sheffield.

I don't see his parents or siblings in 1911 either. Perhaps as Jansmith has suggested some parts of the 1911 Sheffield census are missing.

Ah! Father is widowed by 1911 and no sign of young Emily.
