If that was the correct Martha in 1881, which I posted earlier, this looks like her in 1891 and 1901:
Martha Falana in the 1891 England Census Name: Martha Falana [Martha Valance] Age: 23 Estimated Birth Year: abt 1868 Relation: Boarder Gender: Female Where born: Bradford, Yorkshire, England Civil Parish: Manningham Ecclesiastical parish: St Luke County/Island: Yorkshire Country: England Registration district: Bradford ED, institution, or vessel: 49 Neighbors: View others on page Piece: 3634 Folio: 111 Page Number: 21 Household Members: Name Age William Arthur 26 Annie Arthur 30 Sydney Arthur 2 Martha Falana 23 - silk warp picker
Martha Vallance in the 1901 England Census Name: Martha Vallance Age: 33 Estimated Birth Year: abt 1868 Relation to Head: Boarder Gender: Female Birth Place: Bradford, Yorkshire, England Civil Parish: Horsforth Ecclesiastical parish: Woodside St James County/Island: Yorkshire Country: England Registration district: Wharfedale Sub-registration district: Horsforth ED, institution, or vessel: 6 Neighbors: View others on page Piece: 4059 Folio: 128 Page Number: 12 Household schedule number: 59 Household Members: Name Age Edward Allinson 38 Laura Allinson 33 Ethel Allinson 10 Gertrude Allinson 7 Annie Arthur 40 - sister-in-law Martha Vallance 33 - velvet warp & wind dresser
In which censuses have you found her birthplace as Clayton, Beverley?
And how do you know she's related to Walter and Alfred? Do you have her birth or marriage cert?

Walter Married Annie Shaw 1906 father William Vallance (Deceased ) Labourer Alfred Married Sarah Sharpe 1901 father William Vallance ( Deceased ) Navvy they have a boy named Dan 1903 dies 1906
Alfred remarries Emily Smith 1910 in Burnley father William Vallance Deceased Excavator
They too have a boy Tom 1911 dies 1916 Alfred dies 1916 , according to his army records unfit to continue as soldier TB and Asthma maybe passed on TB to Tom !!
Martha also states born in Clayton with ? behind on census records The boys seem to be confused where they were born at times changing place of birth on census records at one point they both put Southampton on 1901 census
Have traced them from 1881 but nothing before .. and what could have happened to their parents , surely must have been from the clayton region to have been left at North Bierley Union .
Walter in the 1939 census is living with Annie (his wife ) and her mother Sarah Jane this is all correct Mum remembers them well . Mum went to pick up Walter's pension one day with her grandma and asked why Walter had two names Vallance and Etherington she told her that he was adopted by the Etherington's .
I managed to have a look at the boarding out of children records of North Bierley Union Workhouse that are kept at Keighley Library the entry read :
Tong Street , Dudley Hill W VALLANCE ORPHAN boarded out aged 8 Health Good Thomas ETHERINGTON ( Mill hand ) From the Guardians of the Poor also received the sum of one pound ten shillings ,provided clothing April 1882 Was paid Ten Shillings until ten years , seven shillings quaterley . attend school until 10 years Left workhouse with no personal belongings !! the censuses back this up also an Etherington was a witness at the wedding he never changed his name Married as a Vallnce and died as Vallance so don't know why had the two names on his pension other than he claimed monies left to him somehow !!

I'm a bit confused who did Walter, Alfred and Martha marry?
Did Walter marry Annie Shaw 1906?- Father was listed as William Vallance, deceased, Labourer.
Possibly him and Annie 1939:
Sarah Jane Shaw 1860 Bradford C.B. Yorkshire (West Riding) Annie Vallance 1884 Bradford C.B. Yorkshire (West Riding) Walter Vallance 1875 Bradford C.B. Yorkshire (West Riding) ------------------------------------------------------------
Possible marriage for Alfred in 1901 to Sarah Sharp. Alfred's father listed as William Vallance, deceased, Navvy

Where does sister Martha tie in to your research?
Did you mean Walter's Date of birth on the 1939 was 1975?

Yes all the above are the same as what I have come across you will not believe how hard it has been over the past 10 years or so that I have been researching . As up until last November I thought the birth at Horton Bradford was our Walter ( bought cert ) but stated father was Alfred mother Hannah Vallance late Hill formally Goff , cant trace these pair either . November they released the 1939 records and Walter now says his Birthday is 18th June 1873 ( the cert we had from Bradford states DOB 25th March 1874 ) so blown that one out .
Yes William on both marriage certs of Alfred and Walter is stated as deceased in 1906 and 1910 ... occupation Excavator

Although Austin has posted Walter's birth in Bradford, and although the 1881 above says Martha was born Bradford (it that's the same Martha), I can't see births for Martha or Alfred in Bradford.
Could these possibly be them, in Derbyshire??

Great Grandfather Walter VALLANCE was left with his brother Alfred aged 7 and 9 ( at the time of the 1881 census ) as orphans at North Bierley Union Workhouse , Clayton Bradford , story told to my mother was that their parents were killed whilst travelling !! cannot find anything to back this up . Father stated on both wedding certs as William VALLANCE but no trace of any accidents or deaths of a William to tie up between 1874 and 1881 when left , so whether this was a "story " told rather than a parent not being able to look after them we do not know ...
Walter VALLANCE b. 1874 Alfred VALLANCE b. 1872 Martha VALLANCE b. 1868
Anyone have these members in their tree with father William
A very large high brick wall !!!!
