Shirley .........
people did (and maybe still do) give wrong names for their father on wedding certificates ..........
it may be because their real father died or left home when they were very young, and they may have been brought up to believe someone else is their father
some illegitimate children made up names for their fathers because it "looks better ............ they may put down a relation's name (eg, grandfather, uncle) or some well-known person in their town/village.
In other words, you can't take a father's name, occupation or even whether he is deceased or not as "true" from a wedding certificate.

As Augusta was under 21 when she married, she would have needed permission from her parent or guardian. Who were the witnesses please?
As you don't have a birth certificate, I assume you know here mother's name by word of mouth. Has anyone found Augusta on the 1891 or 1901 census please?
Do you know if she had any siblings? Have you found Charlotte Honey's marriage?
Perhaps Augusta was a middle name and she just dropped her first name.
It's also worth remembering that sometimes people were admitted to the workhouse for medical reasons as the also doubled as hospitals or infirmaries for those who couldn't afford treatment otherwise.

Having another look at that tree on Ancestry (which has a photo said to be of Augusta) - the tree owner says the family is the one I posted census records for yesterday at 17:55.
But trees are frequently inaccurate - if I've got the right family in 1891 (yesterday, 17:55), - and I have, as per John's occupation - they can't be Augusta's family.
There's no sign of a marriage for Charlotte Honey to John Bolton.

No, I couldn't see one either ArgyllGran.
Gut feeling at the moment is that Augusta was illegitimate and her birth is registered under a different surname.

I saw they were together on the ERs Mary. I was wondering if they could have been Augusta's parents but I'm blowed if I can find the family on any census. They had a daughter Sarah Ann born about 1894.

Well that's always possible. My grandmother was brought up in a convent after her father died (her mother couldn't cope with all her children supposedly). It wasn't until she tried to claim her old age pension that she realised she had been celebrating her birthday on the wrong date and worse still she was a couple of years older than she thought. She found this out when she applied for a copy of her birth certificate.
Shirley, who were the witnesses to her marriage please?
