Good grief! I just read the previous thread where Lesley says she has her grandfather's birth certificate. Evidently he was Samuel Bovey born 28 April 1887, father Francis Bovey (waterside labourer) and Eliza Bovey formerly Harrison. |

I think it is all the same family - he was a waterside labourer in 1891! |

Margee, I think it's all the right family not necessarily in the right order ;-) |

OK, understood, I didn't read that previous thread all the way through. |

Neither did I :-) I went off and asked GR ( on FB) if the advanced search would ever be fixed in order to check whether there were old threads before going over the same ground. :-) |

The information below that was put on by Rose is correct as far as I know and the Samuel Bovey Son Male 13 1888 would be my granddad. |

The birth registration? :- |

Lesley just in case you missed it, Margee has already posted the baptism details which give his birth date and matches the birth reg...there's only the one birth for F H Bovey at that period and place so probably not worth you paying out for the birth cert for the same detail? |

Thanks Chris I didn't know how to look up old messages. |

Lesley there is no birth showing for 1851, it's not unusual to find people have knocked a few years off their age especially if they marry someone younger. |

Many thanks for all the advice. I am going to try to move on to Francis Henry Bovey's dad who I believe is John Bovey, eventually taking me back to the Bovey roots in Devon. |
