My GGF b1841died sept 1915

His Father was Francis , it's on GGF's marriage certificate 1864

Don't know dates for GGGF but I'm sure he was Francis

I have noticed while searching that there was poverty in Northern Ireland
Large family with high incidence of deaths in childhood. And wives dying young.

Samuel Irvine senior had siblings Margaret, Agnes and Thomas

Francis Irvine married Rosanna Galloway
Ballylinny Prebytarian Church Antrim
18/8/1864

So Rosanna Irvine pinafore stitcher aged 20 in 1901 was Samuel's younger sister

This will be the parents 1911 Same street as Samuel at No 2

David...Good to see you have got organized. .I have spent the best part of the day hunting for family in Scotland knowing full well I already had the info. but couldn't find it.. I need to start taking a leaf out of your book....!!

Samuel senior married twice, His first wife was Ada Coaton
They had a son Samuel died aged 7 years
Ada died 1912 aged 28 years
Samuel senior was the son of Francis Irvine and Rossana Galloway

I class myself as organised.
I visited the records office on Wednesday and found loads of missing stuff to add to my tree.

I wrote lots of notes but I also knew that I had to add it to my tree as soon as I got home on Wenesday evening
By Thursday I wouldn't have remembered what the notes meant!

None of us are perfect.

Erinobragh1916, In the early days of my family tree search I had a desk covered in

bits of paper including jotters with sections of my tree. I even bought a roll of lining wall paper to put then all on the same sheet. O the stop start plans. This all was discarded, thrown out when I changed address, then had an accident. All I had to do was to have put all my tree's members on the GR provided family tree. Too easy for
this man. The cause of so many restarts, Again I apologise to all I haven't thanked
who did help. :-) <3

I could paper the house with scraps of notes and other bits and pieces collected over the years ..and not filed anywhere but in my head...I am at present sifting through paperwork from 1998 looking for family details I Know I have ..somewhere ... but where I put them is the problem...Yes it must be wonderful to be organised ... but ...maybe one day...

I intend to get as many of Father's family names on my tree as I can soon

so that I cannot say they are lost or forgotten,

Since I first started looking for my Father's ancestors I've changed my PC at least 3

times without sensibly storing or backing up my files / search records.

Then I was seriously injured in an accident more than 21/2 years ago and wasn't on

GR or other sites. I've never had the tidiest of minds but since over coming the worst

of the accident I've resolved to tidy up as accurately as possible my family tree

which I started on years ago.. Confess I'm not only an untidy worker but I'm rather

wasteful of my time and resources. I ought to have correctly learned how to use all

the sources available as you and others do so well. :-)

David...There are a couple more out here as well as the above ...don't bother yourself about it..!!
Given I had responded to most of them and couldn't recall... what does that say about me..!!!

I confess I didn't find it, I was given it some time back on GR or some

other genealogical thread.

To Joonie Cloonis I apologise for my untidy / slovenly disorganised random search for

my paternal ancestry. I knew I'd asked before, didn't realise how disorganised I was

No births show on ScotlandsPeople for a Francis Irvin* in Dunbartonshire 1800-25, which would be a reasonable time-frame for the birth of Francis senior.

There are ten in other areas - Edinburgh, East Lothian, Aberdeen, Dumfriesshire, Wigtownshire.

I think Helensburgh's a red herring. Ireland seems far more likely.
