Tracking that same John Thomas backwards - he seems to have been married to a Rachel on the 1851 census. Possible death for Rachel in 1852. |

Re: the Swansea marriage just above - the Glamorgan marriages on FindMyPast show that Thomas John Randell and Elizabeth Thomas married on 19 Sep 1852 at St James', Swansea so you can rule that one out. |

the 1881 census gives his age as 80 and hers as 50. 1871 gives ages of 67 and 39 1861 40 and 30 ??? |

Thanks I'll check on these . there is a difference in john Thomas age on the different census The later census has a 20 year age gap between him and his wife but the earlier census gives different ages |
