I see James Jordan was one of the witnesses of Alfred Manley's marriage.

The other one was Martha Matthews, who was also witnessed James Jordan's marriage in 1890.

A tree on ancestry has James John Jordan and info on his sons. There are newspaper reports on the deaths etc.

James John Jordan a lighterman was on his way home from work to attend his sons funeral and was killed in a accident in the street. He died 27/15/1905.

His son George a lighterman was pulled from the river in Wapping by his dad 21/12/1905 born 1882.
George was the second son of James John's to drown in the river.

James John Jordan 1st married Mary Ann Ballard 4/7/1875 dad James William Jordan deceased. He then married Ellen Jane Stubbs.

What a terribly tragic story.

Regarding Alphonso's father - I suppose the father on his birth certificate is going to be named as James Jordan. Whether it was really James Manly or not, as Susette's name was still Jordan. No sign of a marriage.

All the children except Alfred and Frederick, got married under the name of Jordan.

I can't see a very likely death for James Jordan. Unless it's the one born 1830 died 1869 Whitechapel. Maybe he died in the London Hospital.
