One in 1999 but the birth year given for her doesnt match yours ,as Maude Austin.

There is a Q3 2001 death of a Maude Austin in Worthing RD which says born 24.4.1914 - but Maude would have died as HISLOP

I'm wondering, Gritty, whether the 1939 marriage was for the father...........but I can't - at the moment -see a death for Elizabeth

Nor can I see anything other than his birth for the son. Checked CWGC - didn't die in WW2

If Gillian wants to have an accurate tree, she can't manage without a copy of the cert.

We're thinking along the same lines- but I couldn't see a death for Elizabeth either.

The death in 1990 for Maude gives a birth date of 10 October 1898. Might explain why no children as she was 41 when they married?
There is a Q4 birth in Wycombe for a maud Austin in 1898

As Jacqueline says, that 1939 marriage certificate is vital to confirm ages and father.
