Just checked 1911 census and there is an Elizabeth Slade 42. ( which would make her 73 in 1942). Living in Chard Somerset. |

If she did live with someone else it's likely she took the mans name as she couldn't marry him .unless she committed bigamy .worth looking for another marriage though . |

I tried searching for her sons together without using a surname in case they were lurking on the census under Elizabeth's new partner's surname but I'm sorry I still couldn't find them in 1901 or 1911. |
