I had been given contradictory and vague bits of information before about 3 different Kathleen Austins , including a variety of father's names.
I especially like the address from 1940. I think that you have got there for me and I am checking certificates.
Hopefully I will find a living relative.

If you'd given us ALL the info you had in the first place, Sheila, a lot of irrelevant info would not have been added to this thread

It's very unlikely that Yvonne is a child, of that marriage as her mum was wasn't
Kathleen M Milner so to follow her marriage etc. is going down the WRONG tree

Hi Sheila, it is unlikely that the Yvonne Zoe Milner mentioned earlier is the daughter of Kathleen and Bart. From the shipping lists it looks like Yvonne's mother was Kathleen Isabel Milner- so a different lady.

Kathleen's father was called William and he was connected to a Solicitors, but I didn't know how. The name Kathleen Marjorie Austin also sounds correct as Marjorie is a family name.
I will be sending for some certificates.
Kathleen began a very special girls group even greeting the King in 1917....public service and the Queen's birthday Honours List....this is the right lady.

I found the 1964 marriage to Malteno-Mills already, then a son John in 1965 spelt Molteno-Mills. Then a possible marriage to Joan E Murray in Lewisham / Anita / Bratton. .......

I think that's an excellent find from you. Looking at her father's occupation on the 1901 census, it wouldn't be in the least surprising if she was involved in Public Service.

Looks like the correct Kathleen has been found. Great effort helpers!

Just in case it's related a Kathleen Marjorie Milner appears on the Queen's honours list for 1952:

She gives same address here, as when she's travelling with Yvonne in 1934- so I think we can rule this Kathleen out, and the daughter Yvonne Zoe.
