As the locations are different, perhaps there were two couples with those names......... |

The bride and groom came from two different parishes. The marriage would be recorded in both parishes. If you get credits for Scotlandspeople and look at the originals you know who came from which parish. Also there is sometimes a little more detail on the original but not always. |

Yes I know that's why I got confused I have never come across that before, sorry if I sound stupid but I couldn't work out if they were two different couples or the same couple just in different areas?? |

No, not sounding stupid at all Trudy. If you're not used to dealing with Scottish records, it takes a wee bit of getting used to. |

http://www.freecen.org.uk/ has 100% coverage of Angus(Forfar) 1841, but only 32% (incl St Vigeans) of 1851. |

Trudy, that was just a random example that mgnv was giving you. The information in the parish records varies. I have found some where the fathers' of the bride and groom are named and even a couple where the fathers' occupations are given. |

Spot of luck here! This could be either Alexander's father or uncle living with Alexander and Jean / Jane in 1841 |
