The address for the family in Mike's 1891 census is 'Garden Row', on George's marriage to Elizabeth Mary Ann Finlayson, his address is given as 5 Garden Row. |

Just looking at the image for the baptism for Emma that GlitterBaby posted, as it's the nearest one to census 1881. |

the 1891 census above has to be them..only problem is George Hutson being Edward G Hudson. with both forename and surname wrong and no Polly? But location is spot on and occupation of Thomas. Found a marriage of Harry A Hutson and Gladys Edwards in 1952 Holborn and a Death for Harry in 1956, Shoreditch, right age. |

Polly is often a diminutive, tho I've not heard of it being used for Emma before. |

Just a thought - I know the military record says Polly Hutson for NOK, and elsewhere say NOK is sister, at the same address as given for Polly previously, ie the address where George Hutson and family were living in both 1901 and 1911, so should it actually have been sister in law? |

Thanks Kucinta for pointing out the sister in law theory, is makes sense. Thomas and Harriet's first two children were Thomas Alfred born 1873 and died 1884 and Harriet Mary born 1875 and died 1877. Also found a death for Harriet Hutson ( Thomas's wife) in 1889 aged 39. Looks like Polly was sister Emma or Sister in law Elizabeth Mary Ann !! Found a marriage for Harry A Hutson to Gladys Edwards in 1952 Holborn, aged 66. no sign of any earlier marriage or kids? |

Well, if the railway records were him, with a birthdate of 20th Nov 1885, then he was still claiming to be single in 1939, though I suppose he could be living over the brush with someone. |

Thanks for that, it explains a lot, need to ask some more questions about the remarriage of Elizabeth and the other kids there were so many. |

Ancestry has the electoral registers for London up until the mid 1960s. Can be a bit piecemeal and some of the address transcriptions are awful, you often eend to check the image itself to make any sense of so called addresses. |
