Hello Marg
As you can see, this thread has become even more confusing.
I got side-tracked by the Mary Ann Scott who appears with the Munden's in the 1861 census.
I am of the opinion now that the Mary Ann Scott who appears with the Munden's in 1861, is a Red Herring and purely coincidental. I think we can happily rule her out now.
Even more coincidental.......because Mary Ann Mintern's mother remarried a James Scott!
So what we have is.........
Mary Ann Mintern born abt 1837.......with Mother Elizabeth on the 1841 census.
There is no baptism that I can see for Mary.......however, there is a baptism for Sister Maria and if they had the same Father.......He is Thomas Mintern.
Mother Elizabeth Mintern born abt 1805 Boldre, Hampshire......remarried James Scott in Lymington 1847.
1824 Possible marriage Thomas Mintern to Elizabeth Kernish
I can't find Mary Ann Mintern on the 1851 census.
1859.......Mary Ann Mintern marries George White. 1861......Mary Ann White with husband George in Lymington.
(George possibly dies in 1861)
1871.......Mary is in the Lymington Union Workhouse.
1881.......Mary is living as wife to Stephen Warn Munden.
Amen! :-D
This is the link to the GRO...."General Registers Office" if you want to purchase certificates online..........
http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/
You will be asked if you know the GRO reference?
The GRO reference is the Volume (Vol) and Page (Pg) numbers.

I am not seeing an appropriate marriage for a James Scott to Mary Ann.
I wonder if James Scott is Mary Ann's step brother who appears in the 1851 census.
This is like trying to fit a square peg in a round hole! :-| :-D

I thought perhaps Mary Ann Mintern.......might appear as Mary Ann Scott in the 1851 census.
And then I came across that 1861 census......... that is when I needed to lie down in a dark room. :-S :
Thank you for posting Mary. x
