Yeah I know Jacqueline, dead annoying. The Scottish certificates are much more informative,, Why make it so difficult.. didn't get anywhere with the CWGC I thought it might have given me some more information... I cant even see an enlistment for John Brown at least it would of mentioned his next of kin... Anyways I was working nightshift last night and on again the night...Better get some sleep before I pass out guys... Thanks for all your input, you have all been stars... |

Been having a think about Laura Ellen Wells who married a Brown.. It is possible she lied about being married due to her already being pregnant with Ernest Pinder ?? :-D |

10a is the GRO Volume number, representing the district in which the event was registered. The next number is the page within that volume |

It's on Ancestry, they have the effects of all soldiers died in WW1 - really it's what monies are owed I think in wages and a second payment which looks like compensation. |

This one on 1901 also has links to Middlesborough and Durham AND he has a mother called Harriet? |

The only Harriet Brown marriage to Mr Gray is the one I posted...and she is way too young to be John's mother (unless he got married when he was about 10 :-) or she gave birth to him when she was about 10 - sorry being facetious! |
