Can you give details of the 1871 census for his wife as I can't find her on Findmypast.
Do you have the 1861 census with the couple together?

Millicent seems to have got through a few husbands, William Grounds, George Hollingworth and Mr Crisp.

You said Vincent and Mary Bellars were MIllicent's parents, but her father's name is given as John Young on the 1856 marriage to Roger Crisp, and she was 'Young' when she married Wlliam Grounds on 1st July 1834, so was it just Mary who was her parent ?
Not that this helps find when Roger died...

If Roger is the son of William Crisp and Katherine/Catherine Buckle, the only census I can spot him in so far is the 1841. :-(

as he joined the Merchant Navy most likely at sea
Maybe he died at sea???
