I'm looking for information about Norah J Cottle born 1898c and died 1945. She was married to Harold Camden who was born in Worcester in 1900. I've hit a brick wall and can't find any more information about her.

This is the info off the marriage certificate. Her name was definitely Norah as I know this from my late Nan. After speaking to my Mum last night she thinks there my be an Irish connections with Norah Cottle.

Norah Cottle died in 1945 I believe she was killed in a road accident. The records show she was born in 1898.

The details you have given above for the marriage is actually the information from the GRO marriage index. You really need to order the marriage certificate to find the name and occupation of her father that she gave when she married.

Remember that the information regarding age on a death certificate is only as good as the informant's knowledge. If Norah was a wee bit older than her husband she may well have knocked a couple of years off her age for the sake of appearances.

As far as the Irish connection is concerned, I did check the Irish indexes for a birth but didn't see one. I would agree though that Norah is a more common given name in Ireland. Perhaps she was named for a Grandmother or Great Grandmother as, if we have the correct Norah neither of her parents seem to be born in Ireland.
