If he died in 1856 age 32 he would be about 27 in 1851.

If he was born in 1823 he would be about 27 in 1851.

Where does age 29 in 1851 come from?

Yes your right I'm so thick at times good job we have some like you to keep me right. The age 29 come from familysearch index but that must be wrong. Just found that William and Elizabeth married 1846.

That appears to be the only 1851 census with a William Barton born in Hucknall.

Thank you Prickles yes it seems to be the right one. Would it be possable to find his wife and sons on later census please. Sorry to be a pain :-(
