Can see your problem, Sandra - I cannot find Lawrence before his marriage and not many Dallagans, however many variations tried, on any census.

I can find a Lawrence b1876, but that is too late to be your Lawrence. His father, Lawrence, was also a cooper and the family were living in the same area (Bermondsey). That Lawrence was b1843 in Ireland and is on the censuses as Delagan and Dalagan. His marriage is on Ancestry but the column for father's names is blank for both him and his wife.

On the original of his marriage to Elizabeth on 05/08/1889, Lawrence's father was Henry a Cooper, deceased, Lawrence 24 was a cooper of 93 Barlow Street and Elizabeth Ann Roberts was 20 and from 298 East Street her father was William a copper plate printer.
Witnesses were William Roberts and John Thomas Roberts

The marriage was at All Saints Church, Newington

This is sad and possibly part of the family tree somewhere

23/02/1929 Western Daily Press and other papers.

When Laurence Dalligan returned from work to his home in New Road Rotherhithe, London he found his wife Anna dead with the cut gas tube in her mouth and his son Lawrence aged 2 with his throat cut. Lawrence had his second birthday last week.

I can't find a marriage to an Anna or a death for her although I can find Lawrence 1927 - 1929

I think that possibly 'Anna' was actually Hannah Buck born 1901 Rotherhithe and died March quarter 1929 St Olave same as baby Lawrence. Not married to Lawrence

I am trying to find out father of Lawrence Dalligan born 1863 Newington as on his marriage certificate 1889 to Elizabeth Ann Roberts father is Henry Dalligan, deceased, cooper but on 1871 census Lawrence Dalligan is 8 and living with father Andrew Dalligan 36 born Ireland and Sarah Dalligan age 13. They are lodging in Bermondsey with Timothy Bryan and family.
