I did look at his age, and was a bit confused, but thought that it was indeed 46

ON that 1911 census, Charles is from Frodsham,(NOT Frodingham) and his age looks like 26 (NOT 46)

I am completely frustrated with this family!



Are we looking for Charles H Broughton who married Ellen Johnson in 1903, and was apparently born in 1865 in LINCOLNSHIRE



or are we looking for Charles Broughton who died in Lymm in 1954 age 73, and thus was born approximately 1881

Many thanks for all the info. My mother was born in Lymm, Cheshire in 1920 her name was Ellen, she was named after her mother,Ellen Johnson. this Ellen married my grandfather Charley in 1903 in the Runcorn District. Charlie went on to marry twice more. The last time he married was in 1949. The Burgess family are unknown to me. The Nellie who was born in1901 is not my mother. i think that somewhere along the way some info was confused.I am still searching for more relatives and appreciate the help.Many thanks, Doreen.

Yes, I found that marriage (and possible death), so perplexed about birth, too many deaths for Ellen or Nellie in the area to confirm birth year.

I think we need Doreen to return with some more information about her Mother, such as year of birth and place, and which certificates she has or intends to order.

Have not yet looked to see if Ellen or Nellie could have been a Helen, or it was a second name.
