Just received Birth Certificate for Edna Alice May Tanenberg - its spelt Tenenberg all the way through it so am not sure if this really is correct - My mum was born on 11th October 1903 and so is this one. Anyway the rest of the information is Mother - Jessie Tenenberg formerly MAGGS. living at 26 Gladstone Avenue, East Ham, Essex. Father - wait for it - Edward Tenenberg, Waterproof maker(journeyman). Well, now I am baffled completely. Many thanks again for all your hard work on my behalf - I really do appreciate it as I have been confused since my aunts disclosure in 2002 about the name change. I do not have access to a computer which is why my friend, Diana is helping me. It certainly is a real puzzle. |

In 1911 Ethel states British born in Marylebone not Canada,so maybe Ethel and Baron were never married as implied earlier. |

Thank you to you all for your wonderful information. I think I can clarify things a little - The family seem to remember Edward being married twice - once to a Canadian, whom I am assuming may be Ethel and his second marriage was to a Barbara whom Auntie Freda said was from Brooklyn, and she lived with Edward in Birmingham - I wonder if this is the wife he was living with at the Globe Hotel? Family gossip has it that she was on the "game" and quickly returned to the USA. |

Oh, yes, Chris - you're right about Marcus and Jessie marrying in 1907 - I got mixed up in my reading of Diana's OP. |
