England / Wales ones have to be bought through the GRO at Southport using these filing ref known as GRO ref that can be found on free sites like Freebmd

Scottish certs are through Scotland’s People website

Irish are through

Northern Irish birth, marriage and death registers and certificates

Search the General Registrar’s Office Northern Ireland for births more than 100 years old, marriages 75 more than years old and deaths more than 50 years old. Searches are free but there is a charge to view results. If you find an entry in the registers you can order a certificate.

Sorry Karen, I can't find any births around that year in the right area. Someone on Ancestry has this family in their tree, but no Gerard either.

As your Grandad never mentioned him, and as there is no logical birth for him- maybe the information is incorrect?

Yes that's the family Francis us my grandad and I'm sorry I can't remember but I was given the date of birth. But my grandad never mentioned him. :(

The births for the other children look like they were registered in Athy- but I don't see a Gerard.

I am looking for my grandfathers brother Gerard Flanagan born in Stradbally Ireland , we have no idea what happened to him. I am guessing he died young as my grandad never mentioned him
