Ha, ha! I like it!

Can't see any sign of Eleanor/Ellen's daughter Eleanor apart from 1881 UK census, which says she was born 1880 in Pittsburgh.
The family travelled to Pennsylvania in 1879, but I don't see any sign of them returning to UK before 1881.
The 1900 US census says they immigrated in 1885, but I don't see a record of that voyage either.

I have found the return voyage to the US.
Not 1885 but 1888
The family arrived in NY on 18 Nov 1888, aboard The City Of New York from Liverpool.
Their destination was Pennsylvania.
However, Ellen/Eleanor ( Allison) is not listed with the family?

!) John Mansforth age 30
2 Lellie ( Eleanor?) Mansforth age 10
3) Edith Mansforth age 8
4) Lily Mansforth age 4

Here's Ellen in 1880 - but it's another Ancestry mistranscription.
Husband John is also listed on the image, and they seem to be living with her parents Thomas and Elizabeth and the rest of her siblings, as in the 1880 posted on page 1 of this thread.
John is listed as son-in-law, and Ellen is listed as daughter.

Is Valina (born Pennsylvania) the same person as Eleanor born Pittsburgh?

So they travelled back to England 1880 or 1881.

Also 1910, which hasn't been posted yet:

I see the Findagrave record of Ellen's death lists some of her children:

Vellona Mensforth Blaney (1880 - 1935)* <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
Edith Mensforth Burger (1882 - 1934)*
Lily Mensforth Kirkham (1884 - 1954)*
Elizabeth Mensforth Kuntz (1886 - ____)*
Arthur Henry Mensforth (1888 - 1945)*

*Calculated relationship

And when you click on Vellona's name, it says she was born Pittsburgh, Nov 29, 1880.
So presumably she's the little Eleanor of UK 1881.

Once again,you guys,absolutely brilliant.Thanks so much.A leg of my family I thought
I'd lost altogether. My biggest"brick wall" is the fact I can't find the Parents of Joseph Liddle,(recorded as Little in 1841 Census at Wham,Co.Durham).Maybe its a lost cause? Once again, massive thanks to all you researchers.

Yes this is my G.G.Grandfather and his family.I've trawled thro'100's if not 1000's of Bishops transcripts but never found any proof of Joseph's parents.I can't imagine that Durham Archives will even help me.???As I say, maybe a lost cause.?

Hi,Everybody, yet again.I think I have to assume from the lack of response that, like me,you have all hit the same "brick wall"and can not find any definite proof of parents of Joseph Liddle/Little,b.c.1810.I have been told they could be a John and Sarah Little, but not totally convinced. All the same I only have respect for all you researchers, and thank you very much.
