Hi I have a really Difficult one,
Annie Kathleen Miller married
Stanley James Rodmell on May 23 1920
I have the marriage details she is 25 Spinster living at 70 Samuel street Stepney
Her father is Henry Miller (decd) Labourer.
Stanley James Rodmell I can track back but I cant get any information on Annie at all, the last living relation in our family is unable to tell me any information, but it has been suggested in the past that she may have been German, and her name was in fact Muller.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

Looking at the marriage on Ancestry, I'm assuming that the idea of her being German comes from the witness' name Alice letsche? She is on the 1901/11 and her father was German.

If this is Annie, without any record of a second name, her birthplace should be on the death cert

Interestingly at number 68 are:
George Rodmell
Sarah Rodmell

The same people are living at the same addresses above in 1921 too

WOW thank you for that I have been getting small amounts on the Rodmell's so this is great I will add those details. George Rodmell likes spelling his name Rodwell, so the census searches have been hard.
George and sarah are Stanleys mum and dad.

At 68 were George & Sarah Rodmell & Joe McGuire.

You're not likely to find your lady as she was under 30 so wouldn't have been eligible to vote.

ADDED: trying to drill down into the districts, the years jump from 1918-22. In 1918 just Emily Benbrook was registered at 70 Samuel St

Lol sorry I did not realise 30 was the age back then, my lady just does not want to be found.

But was wondering who was there in 1920 was hoping for the Vosper.

One thing, in 1918 Stanley was registered at 68 Samuel street, but on a different list as an absent voter (qualification NM = on military service), but I can't see him until he appears with Annie in 1930 at 20 York Place, Stepney.

If she was German, I don't think she would have been eligible to vote unless she had been naturalised?? But not sure on this.

Thank you, I have Stanley's military records he served until 1920, I love a challenge, but feel I have to admit defeat unless our family member will give me any more info, I am leading towards German.

I wondered if Emily Benbrook was connected to her, for her to give that address - she must have been living with her for a time. Emily Caroline Benbrook was living at the same address since at least 1916 as this is her husbands death in WW1:

However, her maiden name was Willis, born c1883

its the same as the Vosper on 1924 electoral register they are living at number 70 with Emily Benbrook, I was wondering if Emily Benbrook took in boarder or had servants.

It looks very much like she was living there, or maybe Emily got on well with the Rodmells (next door) and aloud Annie to use her address, did they check back then for proof of residency.

Its so strange that our one family member ie Annie's grandson will not fill in any gaps. unless he does not know him self.
