Find Ancestors

Dear All,
Good morning. I am looking into a gr aunt of a friend of mine. Alice Clark b. 1888 or 9 in Portsea Portsmouth who emigrated to Australia. We have information from a family tree on the internet belonging to a Bernard Tasker that she died in Murrunbeena, Victoria 1966. What we don't know is:
1. When she left Englad and did she leave England unmarried
2. whats her married name (she had five sons)
How do I go about find more information ?

Thanks for your advice about the Australian Archives. We have two possible married names for her, Jacbos and Pinnington but at prescent this is guess work

could Jacbos be Jacobs????

Yeaph........sorry is Jacobs. Tell me about it........... Clarke was my maiden name.............and my family of Clarkes lived in the same road as this family of Clarks !!!! :-D

I'm wondering if this is her birth registration and she interchanged her name between 'Marion' & 'Alice'

Louisa legg born 1860 Netherbury Dorset married Charles Clark 2/11/1879.
Her dad Job Legg his dad George Clark.

George Clarke 1832 married Emma Meacham according to trees on ancestry,please check.

So looks like the Emma Clark off 1911 census above.

My friend is hoping to find relatives in Aussie before she goes there in October. I will follow all your information up.

PS reading through your information.......it looks like Alice emigrated with her son in the 50's and not as myfriend thouth in the 1900's. Cheers
