Re Dundyvan Road, Old Monkland - see this link:
http://cartographic.info/uk_street/map.php?id=249401
Click on the Satellite button, and you'll see that the area is all modern buildings - the places your ancestors lived have all been demolished since then. No sign of Dundyvan Row, just Dundyvan Road - presumably gone along with all the rest. There's still a Dundyvan Lane.
You'll also see Marshall Street very close to Dundyvan Road.
I suspect that Marshalls Row and Dundyvan Row were in the area where Wishaw Sports Centre is now.
Cambusnethan is now a suburb of Wishaw, but would have been a separate village in those days: http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/sct/LKS/Cambusnethan/
Never a pretty area - industrial, mining, etc.

I have just reprinted everything and do continue to work on my Family Tree. My husband has been ill, and he is the one the figured out how many credits I should purchase on Scotland's People and was only able to figure out how to print very little, but I guess they figure I am a yank and are kind enough to give me leeway.
I did contact that one Orgill family member, she replied once and never heard back from her. I have searched out others with email addresses there in the area, but never hear back. While my Aunt Ruth Orgill Smith was alive, she continuely kept in touch with family there, but as such a young child, I wish now I had paid more attention, and while my son works on my husbands who were Mayflower Descendants, I want my granddaughter to know of my heritage. I appreciate all for their time and dedication. Debbie

Deborah, a lot of what Joonie has said is correct, but marriage entries on the Old Parish Records do not usually contain much info about the couple's parents, so don't expect too much. The Civil Records after 1855 do usually have both parents' names. Also, if you can find deaths for Agnes's parents after 1855, those will have their parents.

when you do a search at scotlands people, you have to buy credits first
if your search produces a result, then you have to pay a credit to see the result list
if it seems to be the person you are looking for, you pay more credits to see the actual image of the parish register
then you can save the image to your own computer
the images can be quite fascinating ... I only have one direct Scottish connection, a great x 3 grandfather who inexplicably wandered off to Scotland sometime before 1840 and remarried there and was there when his wife died in the 1850s because he was the informant of her death, even though he was enumerated in the workhouse in England in both 1851 and 1861
once I knew of the remarriage I was able to find the Scottish wife's death, and see the original parish record with his name on it
on the marriage record itself her parents are named but his are not ... however he adopted the local practice of including his mother's birth surname as his middle name so I knew it was him
but usually for a couple in Scotland their parents' names will both be on their marriage record
and then on their children's birth/baptism records, the parents' marriage info will be there
so it is worth going back to scotlands people and working it out
you have to register and then sign in, then buy some credits
then under 'old parish records' select births or marriages or whichever you are looking for
then use the search form to search for the name in an approximate date range
and see what you get!
if it is the Cousins family you are now investigating I think ArgyllGran has given you the basic info above
Agnes's birth: 12/05/1844 MOFFAT AGNES GARDNER JAMES MOFFAT/JANET CULLEN FR593 (FR593) F OLD MONKLAND OR COATBRIDGE /LANARK 652/00 0020 0486
Agnes's parents' marriage: 19/10/1839 MOFFAT JAMES JANET CULLEN/FR818 (FR818) M OLD MONKLAND OR COATBRIDGE /LANARK 652/00 0030 0146
if you do the searches that produce those results you will be able to see the parish record images to see what info they hold, such as the parents of James Moffat and Janet Cullen and exactly where they were living
but then again the censuses ArgyllGran posted above gave you places of abode for them
1841 Marshalls Row in Cambusnethan
1851 Dundyvan Row in Old Monkland
keeping in mind that place names will have changed probably
but if you look at google maps, Cambusnethan is a very small area
I don't know the geography at all but google maps offers Dundyvan Road, Street, etc., in Coatbridge and Wishaw
perhaps you can find an old map of the area
http://www.old-maps.co.uk/index.html
search for Cambusnethan for instance, it gives you an 1860 map you can move around in I wonder whether the many unnamed branchings off the streets were 'rows'

I have not moved anything, but don't get to come on as on as often as I like as my husband is ill, so some weeks are filled with Dr appts. I did purchase time on the People from Scotland as suggested by someone, but that board is also confusing as to which category I push the button under for my grandparents family, Jessie's Mom and Dad that were born there as they told me then I would get their family names. I am hoping to complete all of this and find the are in Scotland and England where both my grandparents came from while I still have my husband to enjoy this with me. I have a doll and some cut glass that my grandmother brought over with her, and she was the only one I had for a short time and I was the only granddaughter, and I was born in 1952 and would be nice to see the area she came from. I am giving my all to doing the right, so I am saving everything, so not to miss anything will look over paperwork again and thank you so much for your help.

hi Debbie
I don't know whether you removed your new thread on Finding Ancestors
http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards/board/living_relatives/thread/1344988
or Genes Reunited did it after someone reported it probably for being a duplicate
I had posted in it to say it would be best to continue this thread and not duplicate
(you mentioned that people had been very helpful so I guessed you had had an earlier thread)
and then someone reported it
in any event, if you want to take another look at your thread here and maybe post whether you were able use any of the info in it to try to trace family members, just add to it and it will get moved to the top of this board for new attention

My grandfather John R Orgill built a large duplex house (2-sides) on Parker St in Scranton which seemed to be shared by both the Orgill and Cousin Families. By the time I came along, I lived with my parents on one side and my mom's brother and family on the other. My Grandma Orgill was shared by all my cousins, minus my uncle Tom who had been killed in the mines. I was the only granddaughter and the youngest with all my cousins old enough to be my parent. My Aunt Agnes Orgill married Gerald Fowler, again before I was born. I am sad that it has taken me this long to do this search, and I appreciate all the help everyone is giving me. My husband and I have lived and worked in Africa for 17yrs, so my dream now would be to find the area that both my grandparents lived in and visit, since we can walk out our front door and are surrounded by my husbands family. I would love to meet or hear from some of mine and thank you all for helping. Debbie

I will work on all the info and try and find things. I was the legitimitate daughter of Douglas H Orgill, even given the large gap in age. My Grandmother Orgill was with us until she she reached the age of 86. When my Dad was young they helped raise him until he married my Dad. All of my Dad's brother's and sisters were old enough to be my parent, but I have all paperwork which is in order. Thank you all,ao much.

There is a tree on Ancestry that has the 1841 family. According to it John b1832 married Emma Bridgewood. There are children shown but no John. The last source for this family is the 1861 English census. When did John go to America?
Looking at the sources for this tree, I think they have the wrong John in 1861 but there are other lines down from his brothers they may prove helpful. If you don't have access to Ancestry, you should be able to view the tree on the Mundia site.
