I think the 4 children I have were on the 1911 census. Thats definitely where I got some of the info at least. The 2 potentials I have, who I believe died, were the only ones I could confirm to about 95% from baptismal records.

Thanks for that. I recognise some of those names - I found baptism records, which do occasionally list the mothers maiden name before 1911 so I know some, such as Arthur Edyvean Cornish is definitely wrong. Some I don't recognise, and I will run those past my grandmother when I see her this weekend.
BTW I have today received my copy of Mary Ann's birth certificate in the post :) John was definitely married to Evelina Mary Jane Wilkinson, formally Stephens. Looks like that is where my great grandmother was named after!

Phymeter isn't the middle name, it's the mother's maiden name which was included in birth registrations after 1911.

If she is registered at the same address in 1911, then she is probably the best bet for Mary Ann's mother.
Re my great grandmother, as far as my family is aware, Evelina Cornish was the youngest of 10 children, 6 having died before she was born. I am seeing my grandmother this weekend however, so I will see if she is aware of any later children. (The ones we know about, who survived early childhood are Violet May, b. 1899, William Andrew, b. 1902, and Sidney, b. 1907, before Evelina, b. 1911. I have also found a Lilian Eliza, b. 1901, d. 1901, and Sidney, b. 1903, d. 1903, but do not know the names of the other children).
