	I'am thinking they are not the same Mary/Mary Ann Maybe the marriage with George Bodin/Boden 1817 just got his year of birth wrong, it does happen. Maryb

Member Since: January 2007 Posts: 14 Send Message	Hi Mary,thanks for the info, yes I have looked at this also POTTY had mentioned it is very feasable Mary Lane 1843 Had Arthur Lane 1867 in Sedgley, 1871 he was living with Elizabeth Smith ne Lane ,Mary's sister. 1851census they are living with their Father William Lane & live next door to the Smith's,so I hink that is right. 1881 census as you say Mary could have married George Bodin in 1873 already having Arthur then calling him Bodin & having more children,in census George was born 1833 all date & plces seem right but there is a marriage with same names & his birth was much earlier?think 1817 her Father was John, what do you think Regards Kay Lane

	If it was the same Mary Ann lane who married George Boden,then her dad was John not William 1813 Ironbridge.. 1861 Sedgley d62 > 6 John lane 34 a miner age 34 Elizabeth wife Eliza 1855 Mary Ann 14. Next door to them Thomas lane 32 a minor. 1871 Mary Ann not with John lane Maryb.

Member Since: January 2007 Posts: 14 Send Message	Update to finding Mother Mary Lane & ?William Lane Grandfather fo Arthur Lane 1867,I need to do some more research but am interested in this 1841 census,there is a WM Lane1816, wife Elizth 1821,Eliizth daughter christened Jan 1838 so probably born 1837,names are all shortend,come from Highley Shrops,1861 census Hadah Smith married to Elizabeth ne Lane born Alverley,think written Auverley by mistake,living Bradley's Lane where Arthur 1867 was born & lived when 4.1861census a William Lane,widowed from Highley which is very near Alverley.All living in Sedgley from 1851 census,?? A marriage of William Lane to Elizabeth Pain in Bridgenorth which is not too far from Alverley & Highley. Think they could all come from Shropshire then moved to Sedgley.

I am now looking for The Father William 1813 in oher census & his marriage to find Mary's Mother. Regards Kay

	You wrote Thomas Lane 44 so birth date 1836/7 is about right & as he married Elizabeth Pearson ....... so If Arthur was born before his mother married Mr Lane, then he would be registered as Arthur Pearson.

I have seen both of these,I was particularly interested in 1881 census Thomas Lane 44 so birth date 1836/7 is about right & as he married Elizabeth Pearson born1949 in 1871 quite late for those days &she already had John Henry so wondered if he could have been Arthur Father with somebdy else as Arthur was born 1866/7 before this marriage,but still need definate proof.Will continue researching,thanks again P.S this Thomas is the brother of the James Lane who also had an Arthur 1867 & the Pearson surname is the same as Jane Pearson.

Mike in reply to 2 birth Dudley 1867 arthur Lane c6 114 & c6 2, I applied to Gro for birth cert with father Thomas,they couldn't find any match,I have now sent for the certs with those refs,awaiting reply but not that hopeful
